Someone I considered trustworthy tried to dox me multiple times and think it's fine despite not actually liking himself that his face got posted on 4chan. So many people try to manipulate, belittle you. So many think they know you so well. At this point, I just want to retire to a log cabin in Norway and spend my time reading books.

They get so obsessed with them because there's nothing in real life to satisfy their craving for personal social interaction. They get attracted to "quirks", however stupid they may be. They get familiar with something and can't let go. It's a mix of misery, internet addiction, and lack of emotional warmth in real life.
