you got red pepper paste? that's good. i've got some italian red pepper paste which is really just crushed peppers in olive oil and it's great. it's very spicy so a tea spoon of it is enough to give some nice heat to a whole baking pan of food.
garlic works great when pickled so i wouldn't be surprised if this was good. when i was at a korean restaurant i ate something that tasted like s o y pickled peanuts and it tasted great
