The god of the Old Testament is not the same as the god of the New Testament. The god of the Old Testament is a creation of a single Aeon, wisdom, Sophia. The god of the New Testament is an everlasting pure light of consciousness comprising everything in the universe, and beyond. This god known as the one, or allfather has natural laws bounding the media of creation and cleaved off a bunch of angels/aeons which themselves cleaved off a bunch of angels until there was a heavenly host of beings. One law governing creation states that in order to preserve a pure light of consciousness comprising everything, a male and female aeon must agree to create offspring. Well, Sophia just went behind her partners back and made her own aeon which was such an abomination she hid it away in its own universe where it grew up thinking it was all alone, and so must be god. Until one day the allfather made its presence known to the abomination, and while the abomination and its own host of archons could not directly look at the pure light that revealed itself, they saw an image of the allfather in a puddle and so went about creating their own version of this great god. They built man. Turns out, when they built the man, Adam, they made it so close to god it was even more powerful than the abomination. So they sought to destroy this creature, but the allfather took pity on us/or through equilibrium of creation, a savior was sent to get us out of this soul farm and rejoin the heavenly host of the allfather. But you have to accept the savior to escape the abominations universe. Those who don’t are stuck in the soul trap and have to come back, as shown in the Mythos of Er at the end of Plato’s Republic.
