Ignore the US government drills being run that day stimulating hijacked aircraft crashing into buildings that paralyzed NORADs response. Ignore the "phantom planes" on radar there that were never explained.
Ignore that fighter jets were intentionally sent out over the ocean, leaving DC unguarded. Assume the entire chain of command, around 8 people, all the way up to rumsfeld were MIA or otherwise AWOL. Ignore that Cheney was tracking the flight as it approached, according to Norman Minetas testimony. (See my book for sources on all this)
Well, first of all, none of that is possible without extremely high-level government involvement. But like I said, let's Ignore it
So, by some miracle, you're the terrorists, and you ACTUALLY managed to make it to the Pentagon. Incredible. So, you're right - big building, just crash on the roof right? They know where the command center is, the building was full, would have been DEVASTATING.
However, for some completely unknown reason, they instead decide to pull off this incredibly tight, 360 degree corkscrew turn (pic related) and come in only feet above the ground for the final approach, putting the whole operation in jeopardy. Trained pilots can't even recreate this in simulators without crashing every time.
Not only that, but they hit the EXACT obscure office full of ONI accountants who were assigned to trace the 2.3 trillion missing dollars that Rumsfeld announced on Sept. 10th.
