Instead of going uncanny valley, they should embrace the robotic aspect and try to give it an aesthetic concept of a a "soul" instead.
Like some cars, especially older ones. It'll be way less creepy, way more interesting. It's a robot, it is a complicated machine, but that can be endearing by itself.
If they try to emulate a human face on an obvious automaton, it's just fucking stupid. It'll only work if AI ever becomes actually intelligent (probably never).
