>>7992983I don't think you understand how profound this image is. You're probably from reddit or something, so this will probably be pointless, but I'll try to enlighten you anyways. First, let's look at the setting. This image captures a bathroom, more specifically, a toilet. Why would the artist do this? Because he was trying to make this image a metaphor for the board itself. /bant/ has long since had the reputation as /pol/ and /int/'s toilet, and by photographing a toilet, he is making a representation for /bant/ itself. Now what's more important than the board is what's inside of it. What we see inside of the toilet is a girl, more specifically, Marisa from the touhou franchise. Why is this character important? She is important because of her cultural significance to the board. /bant/ stole many of its flagship memes from other boards, and /jp/ was certainly no exception. As such, marisa is used as a sort of placeholder for all of /bant/'s content. A more recognizable character such as cirno could have been used, but since she was not, we can assume that the artist does not want to cause anyone to get upset, clearly a statement that this piece is about self-reflection rather than to cause any pointless wars against any one group of posters. Next what we see is Marisa, this character representing all of /bant/'s content, its memes, its customs, its traditions, being pissed on. Marisa being pissed on is a clear representation of degradation of /bant/'s content, but the question here is who is pissing on Marisa? The artist himself is pissing on Marisa, and that is where the true meaning of this piece becomes clear. The users themselves are degrading the content, not any outsiders or specific groups coming in pissing from the side, but by the color of the water we can see that marisa is not completely drenched in piss. There is still time to take her out, but wait any longer and you will have no choice but to flush her away. What will be your choice, /bant/?
