At the regional level in the SE crashes are happening at more than fifty times the average rate. A friend of mine is some regional something or other for some insurance company, and he was bitching about it recently. Funny enough I haven't actually noticed that at all and I commute every day. I've seen some accidents, but I also always do see some. But they are up, and it's this year compared to last. The vaccine rolled out last year on a limited basis and this year for everyone.
What I have noticed is that at my company there are only two people who aren't vaccinated after HR tried to bully us all into it with ridiculous testing schedules, myself and one other person. Now we are the only two people who haven't been sick this year. They didn't give us perfect attendance plaques either, someone in management salty af lol. We still got our gift cards though. HR actually sent out an email about people using sick time too frivolously and us not having coverage and having to shuffle things around, so they cancelled our party where we would've gotten the awards. It's a mess really. Us two still have to test constantly, still have never been sick, and every other employee who isn't required to test because they're vaccinated has actually gotten it and had to be out for more than a week to quarantine. I know someone in management is seeing this and just being stubborn and salty about the reality we live in. We are living in the end times for sure.
