>>13956584It's disputed as to whether or not Gobleki Tepe was a temple. They found residue of ancient grain and beer in the pits. If you look at the structures and how they're shaped, it's fairly easy to determine they were used for both storing grain and brewing. Essentially early cellars/granaries/breweries, probably with a hut on top. The animal sculptures were probably meant to scare off vermin, considering they're generally sculpted to be in the animals aggressive posture.
But, yeah, I highly doubt that civilization suddenly sprung up right at the end of the Ice Age, after what would have been an epic calamity for all of mankind. Doggerland was once populated. I'd also bet that the Caribbean was at one point during the last glacial period more or less a dry area. It's really the only reasonable explanation for (pic related) to exist 700 meters beneath the surface of the sea, as geologists can't come up with a plausible theory for how that could have happened.
