When I was in Afghanistan and would hear the jets fly over after having our radio comm operator call in for CAS was the most intense feeling I ever had. Knowing that we were outnumbered, outgunned and would have no chance without running a high casualty cost that a few planes could change the tide of the engagement made me feel more powerful than any person ever could.
With a few words I could kill hundreds if not thousands without ever having to leave my hide, something no infantry division could ever hope to achieve.
