>>13954967well there's an artificial scarcity aspect to it i imagine. i'd be really shocked if a twice album ever outsold a blackpink album for example since twice having 3 comebacks a year means it's easier to skip stuff. even if groups with more comebacks end up making way more sales overall, the albums are less cost effective to make.
nugu groups have way more reason to make as much music as possible until they blow up and get their name out there so each comeback isn't a gamble, but blackpink is big enough that nobody is going to drop them just because there's too much time between their music.
this is all speculation of course and it might just be poor management after all, but i definitely think it's possible that they'd rather spend money on 3 songs with 100,000 sales each than 5 songs with 75,000 sales each.
