What have you done to make it today? I took a wild chance that I didn't want to and contacted half a dozen people from my closest research university (a very good one, actually).
I still can't concentrate for more than 20 minutes on learning programing.
I am focusing on maths, cryptography, more because it is easier for me to concentrate. I even got an hour of hardcore maths reading in.
