Training should begin fairly young, around 12-13, as part of high school extra-curriculars. This should be no more than driving, safety, firing the guns, etc.
At around 16-18 (depending on country) the girls who show the right spirit should be given the opportunity to devote their life to it. At this point they are taken on tour with a number of suitable male veterans who have passed their fighting age, are not officer material, and need something to do with the rest of their lives.
The idea being that the girls and the veterans will get married and have children, with encouragement given to having many children early. With a full time dad in the picture and plenty of support services from the tank corps, parenting should be a breeze.
While the girls is having her children she is also undergoing more rigorous training in the technical and tactical elements of tankery, going beyond merely operating a tank, into a complete and holistic education on all things related to tanks and their uses.
By 22 she should have had her last child, and be encourage to be permanently sterilized. Thus by the age of 27 the youngest child is now old enough for mum to leave for long periods while dad holds the fort.
Thus the military gets a elite tanker with a good 20 years left (until menopause) of service left in her, while the girl herself gets a quality of life that could not be dreamed of without tankery.
