soiposting got big on /qa/ in very late 2019 and 2020 after the weebs got rangebanned, and the mods showed a clear liking to it. [s4s] got a bunch of soijak stickies and. soiduel threads had their images cleared so the duel coul keep going. there was also stuff like this

https://desuarchive.org/a/thread/205524889picrel was also a part of the /qa/ collage they stickied in mid 2020. soiposting would've likely gotten as big as it did without them, but they certainly took a liking to the meme. soijak purges and general anti soi moderation started and grew in late 2020 and into 2021, possibly (probably) as a result of the sharty causing trouble, or maybe /qa/ caught the attention of another mod that wasn't as fond of the meme.
