well i've only got that group and the original one with middle/high school friends. it's very popular here, most people into "nerd culture" at all have probably given it a go if they can get the people together. it's honestly more common for someone to have too large a group because they don't want to turn away rather than not being able to find enough people
it's possible but he doesn't strike me as the type. just always seems like he's the only one who's not caught off guard when i start using new buzzwords.
