As to your question: Islam is basically a more "complete" Christianity. You can carry all of the things you love about Christianity with you into Islam, but you can leave the weird "Am I really calling a man God?" at the door.
There are a lot of Muslims (ex Catholics) that say Islam actually boosted their love and appreciation of Jesus, because it stripped away the weird cognitive dissonance and baggage that the Trinity brings with it.
Islam basically cleans up and corrects Judaism and Christianity and brings them back to a pure monotheism that is very spiritually liberating.
I suggest you watch lectures by Hamza Yusuf Hanson and Dr. Tim Winter, two converts and the most famous scholars in the West.
