Then taper it off, slowly drink less each day, do go full Yank on it, that is, do not as them Yanks say "go full turkey" = stop abruptly consuming alcohol.
Personally when I had sleeping problems I aggravated them by drinking to get to sleep, I solved them by using benzos, and then taper them off.
