>>19382301Amy was only a step out the door when the sound of Sapphire and Gemma's voices stopped her in her tracks. Leaning against the outside of the doorframe she listened intently to the motherly wisdom Gemma was dispensing to her daughter, it was something she'd never received but something she'd yearned to hear from mentors like Ash Romero, Skelly Skelly and Priscilla Divine, the praise they offered could never fill the hole in her heart, and how could it? No matter how genuine or well meaning the praise, no matter how sweet the words, they could only ever be an inferior substitute to the infinite patience and unconditional love of a mother.
Amy was happy to hear that Jen and Priscilla had seemingly settled their differences but her heart ached. She wanted to return to the room and rejoin her friends and family but without thinking she'd stormed out, she'd rudely breezed past her future brother in-law without a word, judged him without giving him a chance, she felt like a monster, she knew she'd be forgiven, again, but sooner or later their patience would run dry and she'd once again find herself alone having driven everyone away.
The Angel leaned against the wall and sunk slowly to the floor. On the wall she saw a framed photograph of Sola Fire, from the angle it looked like she was looking down on her and smirking.
