>>23535612I think this time around it's based on reality. We lived through the disconnect between analog -> fully digital. We grew up on landlines, nokias, and eventually the first smart phone. We had typing classes and CRTs while plasma screens were still out of reach for most households. We lived through dial up, basic wifi, and now everything hyper connected. I've said it here before, but I truly believe the iphone signaled the beginning of the end. As soon as internet and smartphones were no longer gatekept (and made readily available to the general public) everything went to shit. I like to meme gamergate as much as the next person, but everyone having equal access to the internet planted the diseased seeds long before GG did.
