A new contender which truly understands the market and builds strong consumer relationships grows over the course of a few decades. It becomes a booming enterprise. It can even afford to invest into expensive gestures and fancy buildings. However, in the end, the company, complete with everything of value they ever made or owned, is destroyed. And its not even limited to companies- even public institutions like the rail system are vulnerable to this.
The buildings, however regal and majestic, are completely razed in order to declare them as a loss, and they are replaced with modernist garbage.
