The other day I was looking at a map of Jerusalem in the time of Christ and I noticed a House of Caiaphus. I seemed to remember that name and looked it up; he's the cheif priest of the Temple of Jerusalem 18AD to 33AD. He sent the mob of armed jews to arrest Jesus in the Garden of Gethsamine then take him back to his house where a Sanhedrin court prosecuted Christ for raising the beggar Lazarus from the dead. The spit on him punched him in the face and plucked his beard out. They wanted him dead. I found this very odd that after a lifetime of Christian indoctrination I'd never heard Caiaphas named till now. I find it odd that protestants and catholics don't talk about this; it's always Pilate they talk about. It's almost as if the so called Christians worship the jews more than Jesus and want to exonerate them. I'm going to be asking some of my Christian friends who visited Jerusalem if they visited Caiaphus' house which still stands intact to this day. I bet they didn't. I bet they reverentially visited the Temple mount though..
