There was a time, a far more polite time, when people understood that every person they encountered was capable of incredible violence, and to treat them accordingly. People understood that merely insulting someone could wind up with you dead in the street. And you couldnt measure that man by his size or his wealth, you had to factor in reaction speed and timing. Quantities you didnt know.
