2. Start learning kanji. Forget about writing, it's a massive waste of time considering you'll most likely never have to write by hand.
I use wanikani for kanji and it works like a charm for me. I recommend it if you can spend some moneys, totally worth it. If not, you can try Remembering the Kanji. In any case make sure your use mnemonics, it speeds up learning very significantly.
3. Tae Kim's guide might not be perfect (according to some people) but it's the friendliest starting point for grammar and it's free. I'd suggest to wait until you know a bunch of basic kanji before getting to it in order to maximize efficiency, but you might want to start earlier if you prefer being able to make some very basic sentences from the beginning
