Compared to /g/ there's a lot less baiting and console wars type stuff, so it's easier to have a conversation even if you might not know as much. As for the other half that's where the /r9k/ stuff is, but it's still not quite as bad as the real deal. The moderation is pretty active and tends to keep things in check
