>>19984545Yahweh/Yaldabaoth is the fusion of several gods, Sabaoth is his Jupiterian aspect/archon inherited from Baal Hadad. Yahweh himself wasn't originally part of the Canaanite pantheon, so it's thought he came from elsewhere (see Kenite hypothesis). But the Israelites adopted Yahweh into the pantheon, and as they shed Canaanite polytheism in favor of monotheism, Yahweh absorbed attributes of the Canaanite gods El and Baal-Hadad. El was the head of the pantheon (the "sons of El" mentioned in the Bible), whose wife was Asherah (later worshipped alongside Yahweh, see Chronicles/Kings). Yahweh takes on his role as an aged, wise god who heads the pantheon, as well as bull imagery. Baal-Hadad is also associated with the bull, and was the Canaanite storm god. From Baal, Yahweh gets his holy mountain, his battle with the sea monster Leviathan (typical chaoskampf, see Baal v. Lotan), the attempted usurper associated with the morning star Venus (Lucifer v. Yahweh, Attar v. Baal), the storm theophany, etc.
