I reinstalled it once or twice over the years when they put out those major updates but in spite of improvements the core gameplay loop never seemed to change to any significant degree. Once you've explored some planets and unlocked a bunch of stuff that you've used to build a couple bases there's not that much else to do. At least not last time I checked, which as I said was a while ago.
