>>16322471well what about if they mostly want particular kinds of suffering? not all suffering is the same, there are different flavors like food, just saying something is tasty doesn't adequately describe what something tastes like and what's tasty to humans might not be tasty to other animals, not to mention the amount of variance in what humans consider tasty, so maybe the grief about deaths isn't a desirable kind of suffering like how you don't like mushrooms. except taste isn't a great example actually because it's subjective so maybe a better analogy is nutrition, some kinds of suffering aren't nutritious for them. but i guess it could be taste too, they want a "tasty" kind of suffering, but causing too many scenarios like that could lead to a nuclear war or something which would result in way less "tasty" suffering but it might be worth it. imagine if you could eat the most delicious meals every day for a month, but then had to spend 2 months eating meals with mushrooms. would you do it? maybe you hate mushrooms enough that you wouldn't but still it could be tempting
