>>16805923>Leftist people are more often the creative and high-empathy type of people, and when pushed to the extreme, they become a "compassionate - narcissist". Their compassion and high empahy for other people becomesa point of pride and an expression of superirority.Based reply.
I could write a few more words expanding on this concept, but it would be mostly pointless because you nailed it.
The reason I know this to be true is because for half of my adult life I was a lefty. I am the creative type, and the empathetic type. It was only through a major awakening and the fallout of the Obama White House that made me second-guess my ways.
ALL of my old friends are
>The Compassionate NarcissistWhen asked about sociopolitical issues, they immediately shift the focus to OTHERS. Of course, nowadays these "others" are POC, LGBT, and other "oppressed" minorities. It doesn't just stop there though, as you pointed out. Leftists' psuedo-crusading for the rights of these people—as well as their sympathy and empathy for them—comes off as extremely disingenuous because they wear it as a badge of honor instead of doing it because they believe it's right.
In stark contrast, when a conservative is asked about sociopolitical issues, he/she brings up the problems which affect THEMSELVES, and then others by proxy. By this token alone, I feel like conservatives' convictions are easier to believe, since humans naturally look out for ourselves above all else.
You also made a good point about how leftists use scapegoat tactics and how that's not necessarily or always a bad option in sociopolitical conversation—or in a survival situation, as was your example.
Typographical errors notwithstanding, your reply is a very well thought out and insightful bit. As we say in my neck of the woods, "You ate your Wheaties as a kid."
Nice work.
