The Persian Empire and POO IN LOO have fought to a standstill, and have called a temporary truce to the conflict. Persia refills it's manpower pool while POO, with it's endless supply of manpower instead seeks to improve his industry by building many shitting streets and curry factories for increased poo production, which they fling at the enemy in battle.
Xerxes' ego is very hurt by the POO resistance, as he stubbed his toe and saw that he could bleed, he sounded the call to retreat.
