I guess also wake me up when September ends I was talking about, I think some people thought he was trying to discourage him from getting caught up in the war hysteria because it was kind of wishing illusion and a lot of people probably thought that was bad they're probably like rearing and ready to go fight in a war and that would probably be how a lot of people would think that I'd the mentality to adopt
But also it's weird I think it makes a lot of people uncomfortable and they find it "emo" which is weird it really says something if you can't write or play a song about a disaster like 9/11
But on another level, this is partially what time think the song is about to some extent, I think it is about this kind of mentality and force that came to grip people, like when 911 happened something really changed, people saw the world in a different way probably. He was kind of trying to rouse people out of it, hence wake up, but he means to wake up on multiple levels
Like don't fall into a sleep state over the 911 propaganda and let them orchestrate how you see the world too much
So in that sense it's not really that bad
