anyway cus of the governing style of the CSA mostly, I suppose. Not the generals' faults. Both sides during the war had the central governments completely ignoring or circumventing generals much of the time. More circumventing in the north and ignoring in the south, but that's not a big difference for the purpose of the discussion.
