Think about it, you grow attachment to something that isn't yourself; favourite food, favourite movie, a girl/boy you like, a waifu, it doesn't matter because if you aren't self absorbed and hate everything and everyone than you're a failed specimen.
However, to live like that would be torture, being human is to be dumb, even the brightest minds in the world will fall flat on a subject at some point in their life and if they haven't then they simply haven't been challenged yet.
