Personally I don't think the topping of a pizza makes much difference. The real dealbreaker when it comes to pizza is the dough. It is the foundation of the entire dish and the most important component, on which everything rests. As long as the dough is good, the pizza is good, the toppings don't matter as much. And there is a real discussion to be had as to what kind of dough you prefer. Some people like a really thin dough, which gets crisp but can easily get burned, this is like the original italian pizzas. Others like a really thick dough which has a bread like texture, which is like the american fast food pizzas. For me it's the mix between the two, thin enough to get crispy but with some thickness to it.
