>>9794762>don't we already have far more thanyes we're essentially a socialist nation in most ways but i'm not about to then say "let's just go all the way then," because if i was inclined to do that i'd vote for bernie (except he dropped out today fucking lel)
>It's not like a stimulus hasn't been proposed before.stimulus is supposed to just be fed rate cuts. but they've already been cut to zero, and the fact that everything is sinking despite enormous rate cuts should be a sign that giving out money isn't going to fix things, even a generous tax refund would just be a motley patch. if people are given $1000 tomorrow but no one can go to work for another week or month or however long, then the economy will still crumble
as i have to keep reminding people, this isn't a speculative drop like 2008 or dotcom or w/e, this is an actual productivity drop. decreasing risk or encouraging lucrative spending isn't changing the fact that people aren't working. that's why this whole stimulus concept is so stupid, because it's not stimulating the economy but just trying to buy approval during a rough time. while these quarantine orders are still in effect, we're gonna be seeing market days like today over and over again. DOW went below 20k today and nothing has changed yet - wonder what'll happen when people start withdrawing their money en masse for safekeeping / expenses
the thing that gets me, again, is that this entire fucking thing is purely by choice and people blindly obeying sweeping governor rules and no federal intervention. it's like everyone collectively decided to let society just collapse all at once without a fuss. and as i said in

>>>/pol/248822498 i'm increasingly of the opinion chinese hands are all over this current situation - regardless of the origin of the disease, they are using it to their advantage to great effect
