Don't make it all slammed together. A pattie that is pressed super hard is no good. Get out the ground beef and chop it a bit to loosen it. Then shape it slightly and loosen a bit more after shaping. Also make it kinda thin.
It should not stay together well. It should be loose.
Now heat it well well so the outside browns fast and then cut heat down for the middle once the outside it brown. Don't press it with the spatula at all. It's cooking fine leave it be. You'll just push the juices out and make it packed again.
I like to take it out and set it on a paper towel cause I don't like excess grease in it. Set a bit of cheese on it while it's hot so the cheese can melt.
Eat it all up with frens!
