I heard an Italian politician say a while ago that they can't afford to lock down because the economy wouldn't be able to take it. Since tourism is a huge part of Italy's economy, in their case I can see how restrictions would do a lot of harm to it.
Anyway, this is the second wave, isn't it? Things aren't looking that good. I'm expecting the government to let people gather for the holidays (they already sent the students home), as they probably want to avoid going down in history as the ones who cancelled Christmas. The holiday is very important to the elderly, and they are the ones who voted for these guys, mostly. And then the cases will rise again. Eh, maybe we'll end up vaccinating all the risk groups by April or May.
