i've no idea why the polish poster didn't name a few of the real good polish dishes.
there are three i really like.
i guess most people know polish pierogi. they are dumplings filled with meat or vegetables. they can also be made sweet. i once was at a polish wedding where they served some kind of giant pierogi crested with different symboles from the area and family. it tasted superb.
then 'white borscht'. it's a sour soup made out of rey flour with sausages (sometimes we use smoked ones) served in a bread (not always)
another polish soup i like is Tripe soup. it's called 'flaki'. if you never tried tripe soup before it's hard to explain how it tastes... it's just a thick, hearty soup for cold days. but it takes a while to make it.
