one time i followed a path's markings for an hour, hour and 15 through an uphill forest, then emerged on a meadow and after a half an hour of looking i couldn't find any paths or markings so i went back. next day i met an old guy on a different trail near the same town, he said he used to be a former forest caretaker and that usually a couple of mushroom pickers get lost along that path every year and die.
