>>1587807Anchorage doesn't really have anything of note beyond the salmon runs getting thick enough you're can practically pick them up from the stream during certain times of the year (don't do this, it's illegal). Downtown's "good" and "bad" districts are generally easily enough to tell apart; anything that looks run down, with cars with slashed tires is probably hoodlum territory. Don't linger near the Beans Cafe district or you'll run into bums, natives, native bums, negroes, and what-have-you.
As suggested by the other Anchorage pal, Seward or Palmer are better places to get the "Alaska Experience", for Kenai and Knik Glacier respecticely.
