judaism came after christianity
israelites were never called jews, they never practiced judaism, they never would have referred to themselves as jews
jew is a translation of many different words including judahite, judean, idumean, ioudaios, and more, every single one of these words have different meanings and all nuance is lost when translating them into the word jew
judahites would be the ancestors of judah
the judahites created a kingdom named judea
judea conquered neighboring tribes including the idumean and ioudaios who were then taken into the kingdom of judea and were given the name judean as anyone living in judea was called a judean
these idumean and ioudaios would then later take over the temples and kill all the judahites
this is where the pharisee descend from, a group of people calling themselves judean but who were not judahites of the tribe of judah
judah was only 1 of 12 tribes from israel, a title given to jacob, the descendants of jacob were called israelites
these judeans who were idumean and ioudaios would be the ones who practiced what's called the tradition of the elders
the tradition of the elders became judaism
judaism is different than what the israelites practiced which was called the testament
the torah is 5 books taken from the testament which were editorialized by the pharisee who were not judahites
this is why Jesus says
>I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
>But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me
specifically saying that this pharisee jews were not from israel, jacob, the israelites
>Jesus said, “Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you.”
>They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?"
>"We have NEVER been slaves." (The Edomites (Jews) were never slaves, The Israelites were.)
