The truth of the matter is that Christianity is so mind-fucked that anyone making good on the promises of Jesus would be considered heretics, witches, etc. So it's all kept silent, and the promises made to people for eternal life are ironically said to be kept until after mortal death in some eventual cataclysmic correction even though the evidence for that is flimsy.
If Jesus was a public figure then he would run into the familiar problem of people wanting to uphold him as the legal ruler and authority of a nation with borders, even when his express teachings always went against that.
Know that when God said "these words were reliable and true" he was talking about HIS words, not the prophet. Christians always confuse the message and the messenger.
I'm sure that Jesus started to understand that mortal men really only care for mortal man things. So he outsourced the problem with some promised thrones... supposedly. Allegedly. But where in Christendom would you see subordinately divine figures on thrones? Absolute heresy! Ha!
