And of course this is backed up in scripture as well since the weapons of a Christian's warfare are not carnal. He who lives by the sword dies by the sword etc etc. soldiers could become Christian, but they were commanded to "quake no more". But a Christian could not become a soldier. War was out of the question. It was only by abandoning Christianity on this level that was were able to thrive. And we would be better served by completely abandoning it and going back to the root values that it lifted from Greek philosophy.
