Truth is, unless you grow up in some inner city housing estate the "troubles" barely touch you. The odd bombing etc back in the day of course, but you'd be in far, far, more danger wandering around current year inner city londonistand than anywhere in NI, even at the height of "the troubles".
The northern and eastern coastal countryside/towns are outstanding, Belfast is the real central jobhub however, so to escape the eternal commute you need to specialise in something, or else work in a bar/shop forever.
Miniscule amounts of ackbars and nogs, what few there are are clustered around the south armagh big towns.
People are very friendly here, cost of living is low, a sense of humour even /pol/ could appreciate is common, high social trust levels (even with the prodman/fenian shenanigans), low level degeneracy confined to certain nightclubs in certain cities. A fine place to live.
