>>21752639>My non-fiction rec is "the art of making money"I've been too caught up reading finance books. On 'The Intelligent Investor' right now. I like Melville's writing and was reading the Polynesian book before I went on the finance bender, which has burnt me out. Crime and Punishment sounds like something I could use (read 1984, and the /lit/ Greek starter pack (odyssey, Iliad, mythology book, etc), Melville, Lolita, Infinite Jest, Shogun, Huck Finn, ...
>tv/yt/animeYeah, those just make me feel like I'm wasting my time too much (depending on the YT vid of course, but I'm not looking for anything intense before bed). I don't know if I should just address and embrace wasting time, and be OK with watching tv/yt/anime or playing vidya instead, it sounds kind of unhealthy to be so opposed to it and always on some sort of "grind". But on the flip side I feel I should encourage healthy behaviors that are good for me, and reading has a lot of positive effects on me that I've noticed first hand. This battle I have makes it so I don't even enjoy tv/anime/yt/anime if I do try and watch it. But reading will feel like a chore too. So I often end up just not doing anything and scrolling in place instead, which I hate more than the alternatives.
Sorry if too verbose, just hoping someone might feel the same way and can offer insight.
