they are similar in the grim dark atmosphere, being turn based and having rogue like mechanics.
but darkest dungeon is more about team building, rng mitigation and slowly building up a roster of characters.
you got a town where you manage certain things with the character before sending 4 of them on a run.
fear and hunger was more of a straight up rpg maker game at its core(but with a lot of unique interesting twists of its own).
both are great games imo.
