>>11238335>Looking forward to a goal in order to restart and do that again in middle age feels like you're fooling yourselfyou should have 3 tiers of dreams
- bronze metal: something that you can do right now, at any point. something that you'd be happy was your accomplishment in life. but you don't do it because there would be consequences / there's a higher goal. (ex: telling someone on your deathbed that you're actually gay, or going full minecraft)
- silver medal: something that looks like a normal life basically + skills that you are interested in learning, something that you can progress on and benefit from soon after
- gold medal, something that is so far out of your reach it seems impossible, and there's no way you could do it now no matter how badly you wanted it, but from acquiring those skills and money and etc you may be able to work towards it more seriously one day (ex: settling another planet)
i don't see wanting to have a good life as a "cope"
this implies that we know the truth
but for example is someone said "the truth is nothing matters", well what's the point of even entertaining that notion? if the guy is right then it doesn't matter, if he's wrong you're wasting your time
same if he said "actually we are predestined / there's fate", or if he said "the true purpose of life is unknowable" etc etc, you get the point
>no gfi'd imagine if a grill / kids are pulling you out of bed it'd be way stronger than any drug
