well i have a similar experience. all the americans i met in america were nice and i never expected americans to know geography trivia like what the capital of denmark was so i thought americans being rude was an overexaggerated meme. but every time i encountered one out of america they were acting like animals. like getting into fights with stewardesses over having to tie their shit down for take off, really petty stuff like that.
