It is a meme, but the jobs do exist, you just gotta be lucky to be introduced to it, you wont find it advertised.
You'll suffer at having no one to talk to, no one to help arrange you train tickets etc. Trust me you'll need friends for sanity. Just go pay them a visit and fuck them to thank them.
What age group are you teaching english to?
get a job in a private school teaching highschoolers who want to get into a good university (IELTS prep) They will already be able to speak some decent english at that point
