As such, men seek after empty calories. Empty calories universal, so some cakes are objectively superior to others.
These cakes are desirable to absorb in, so men want to eat them.
There is no evidence to suggest that men eating healthy is apetizing as far as taste preferance as far as gene inheritence is concerned. It is pure hedonism.
