>>16026750>because the ones posting are people who've already known each other for years and are used to everything that's going onHonestly, that makes it sound even more alluring. It ties into what you mentioned earlier, about how altchans have more interesting people. I can imagine the kind of people who would stick around on a mess of a Tor board for years after a previous site died would be more interesting than the usual posters here.
>but it comes down to just doing enough tourism and stumbling on something that seems cool for youI might try that sometime, thanks. What's your experience been? What's the ratio of shit chans to quality ones, and is that even a fair characterization of them? For example, a site may be entirely shit, but one day you luckily get some quality posters or see a decent thread. Or is it common for you to kind of know right away whether an altchan is good or shit?
>>16026846>I think that being desensitized to gore and whatnot doesn't necessarily make them not a normalfagI think it does, but, like you said, it's just semantics. Also, because of the moderation, the offtopic gore spam doesn't even last that long anyway.
>There's also the morbid curiosity that a lot of them naturally have which brings them here. ... That's why you see people using the place more like a substitute Twitter and very rarely actually talking about anything.Yeah. They're not here the whole day, they visit their favorite board for a couple minutes while they're shitting or before they sleep for some funny memes and shitposts and leave, but there's so many of them now. I don't think those types of ultra-shallow posters are inherently bad, but when they're the super-majority it can dramatically decrease the quality of a board, at least for me. Maybe if you ask them they'd say the opposite because that's what they want, that's all they do.
Getting a bit lazy now so I might reply more later. charlim
