my experience was similar, the site owner ended up "retiring" from active ownership to passive and handed all real control to one of the admins who was pretty retarded and cucky and let things get kinda bad, moderation got really lax as mods stopped caring and there was no actual developer to help give them tools for certain situations (in fact they kept stripping mods of tools because they thought the mods shouldn't be capable of issuing heavier bans, even if it was for CP spamming), and it just became a mess that no one wanted to fiddle with anymore, so it just got collectively abandoned
it's really easy for certain places like this to fall apart
